How to Download a Facebook Video to Your Phone (Android & iPhone)
Updated 2026-08-17
Facebook doesn't give you a simple "save to phone" button for most videos, so saving a clip to your camera roll takes one extra step. This guide shows you exactly how to download a Facebook video to your phone gallery on both Android and iPhone — free, in HD, and without installing any app.
How to use?
Copy the link of the video or reel you want to download.
Paste Link
Paste the link into the box above and press Download.

Choose the quality you want and save it to your device.
Step 1 — Copy the Facebook video link
The method is the same in the Facebook app and on the website:
- Open the video you want to save.
- Tap the Share icon, or the ••• (three dots) menu above the video.
- Choose Copy link. That copies the video's URL to your clipboard.
If you only see "Share to feed" options, tap the ••• menu instead — Copy link is almost always in there.
Step 2 — Paste it into the downloader
Open our free Facebook video downloader, paste the link into the box and press Download. It runs right inside your mobile browser, so there's nothing to install and no account to create. In a second or two it will list the available qualities, from standard up to HD.
Step 3 — Save the video to your gallery
Pick the quality you want and the video downloads as an MP4. Where it lands depends on your phone:
- Android: the file goes to your Downloads folder and appears in your Gallery / Google Photos automatically.
- iPhone: tap the download, then choose Save to Photos (or open it in Files and use the Share → Save Video option). It then shows up in your Photos app.
Downloading Facebook Reels and audio
The same steps work for Facebook Reels — just copy the Reel's link and paste it in. If you only want the sound (for a ringtone or an edit), choose the Audio (MP3) option instead of a video quality.
Troubleshooting: video won't download
- "This video is private": only public videos can be downloaded. Videos posted in private groups or by friends-only accounts need you to be logged in and aren't supported.
- No Copy link option: use the ••• menu rather than the Share sheet, or open the video on the Facebook website and copy the address bar URL.
- Nothing happens after paste: make sure you copied the full link (it should start with https://) and that the video still exists.
A note on using downloads responsibly
Download videos for your own personal, offline viewing. Don't re-upload someone else's video or claim it as your own — respect the original creator's rights and Facebook's terms.
