How to Save Instagram Reels to Your Gallery (iPhone & Android)
Updated 2026-09-10
Want a Reel saved straight to your camera roll so you can watch it offline or re-share it? The Instagram app can't put a Reel video file in your gallery by itself — but you can do it in a few seconds with a free downloader. Here's the full method for iPhone and Android.
How to use?
Copy the link of the video or reel you want to download.
Paste Link
Paste the link into the box above and press Download.

Choose the quality you want and save it to your device.
Step 1 — Copy the Reel link
Open the Reel in Instagram, tap the Share (paper-plane) icon, then tap Copy Link. That copies the Reel's URL to your clipboard.
Step 2 — Paste it into the downloader
Open our free Instagram Reels downloader, paste the link into the box and press Download. The tool fetches the Reel and shows you the available quality.
Step 3 — Save to your gallery
Pick HD and the MP4 downloads to your phone. On Android it lands in your Gallery / Download folder. On iPhone it saves to Photos (or Files → Downloads, from where you tap Save Video). Done — the Reel is now in your gallery, with no watermark.
Bonus: save just the audio
Want only the sound (for a ringtone or your own reel)? Choose the Audio (MP3) option instead and the tool saves the Reel's audio as an MP3.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save a Reel to my gallery from the Instagram app?
No. Instagram's Save button only bookmarks it in the app. To get an MP4 in your gallery, use a downloader.
Do saved Reels have a watermark?
No. A good downloader saves the original quality with no watermark added.
Is it free to save Instagram Reels?
Yes. Our Reels downloader is completely free with no signup.
Can I save only the Reel's audio?
Yes. Choose the Audio (MP3) option to save just the sound.
